Rehabilitation of cleft patients

Our rehabilitation program is dedicated to the ongoing care and support of individuals who have undergone cleft lip and palate surgery. Through speech therapy, orthodontic care, and psychological support, we help patients work towards recovery and confident participation in everyday life.

Continuing care

The program brings together speech therapy, orthodontic and dental care, and psychological support. These areas address different needs that patients may have after surgery.

Different needs, continuing support

Speech, dental alignment, and emotional well-being each have a role in recovery. Rehabilitation considers these needs together rather than treating the operation as the end of care.

Follow-up gives patients and families an opportunity to raise concerns and discuss next steps. The care team can explain what support is appropriate for the individual patient and how appointments or referrals are arranged.

Talk to us about follow-up

Contact our coordinators to discuss follow-up arrangements and the services currently available. If you have already received care through Sewa Foundation, let the team know when you call.

Rehabilitation continues the care that begins with our free cleft surgery program. Read about our approach to comprehensive cleft care to understand how surgery and follow-up support work together.
